Ariel Lacey is currently a graduate student at Ohio University, where she has been building anything and everything she can get her hands on as well as props mastering both mainstage productions and student works. For the past two summers she has worked as a props carpenter at Santa Fe Opera, and will be returning for her third summer in May 2020. Her passions in props are varied, but she enjoys furniture construction and upholstery and sculpture in particular.
In the past, she has been honored to work for incredible companies such as Opera San Jose, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Paper Mache Monkey and the Atlantic Theatre Company. In 2014, Ariel graduated from New York University with a degree in scenic design and technical direction. From her first steps into theatre in high school, she built a love for collaboration and the incredible creative capabilities of the stage.
In her negligible free time, Ariel explores her interests in puppetry and cosplay or takes long hikes with her dog. She also reads avidly – mostly fiction and (occasionally) science fiction – and harbors a passion for board games.
