Another artisan and I reupholstered this chair out of checked cotton fabric. Because of the curves, not only was it difficult to pattern match but it was extremely difficult to pull, especially since the fabric was thin and unforgiving and so would often rip instead of stretch. On the arms we solved this problem by cutting a matching additional pieces where the arms curved horizontally outward, then hand stitching it in place while pattern matching to the best of our ability. I also managed to pattern match the seat cushion and the arm caps.
