Eastlake Table

Final Project – Furniture

Ohio University  – 2018

Teacher: Tom Fiocchi

After scaling up a reference picture and drawing half the table full scale to make a pattern for the center post, I laid up poplar and turned it to match said pattern. I cut each leg out of poplar on the band saw and then routed and sanded the edges to give them dimension before doweling and attaching to the center column. The box for the table top is also poplar, planed and cut before I doweled them together. The top of the table is 1/2″ plywood with a plywood rim attached with biscuits and then routed and applied, after which I applied small details out of poplar. I then stained and sealed the whole piece.
